Our farm traced bridle leather comes from UK cattle stock. It is a sustainable and viable ethical source of material from a by product of the meat and dairy sectors. - Every Filly & Fox belt and leather accessory is stamped with a unique code that enables us to trace each leather product right back to the farm. It's this product material authentication and product transparency that customers are now expecting in fashion.

Our natural leather raw hides are pit tanned using traditional bark and natural extracts for a period of six to eight months, before the final finishing can be undertaken. Once tanned the leather hides are sent to our leather finishers. This next process takes a further six weeks to finish the leathers by hand, using age old traditional methods, fats, tallows and liquors which give traditional English bridle leather it's strength, unique character and patina with age. Bridle leather by default is one of the strongest available due to these processes.

Every Belt from Filly & Fox is hand crafted from a single hide by our master and Royal warranted saddle maker. It's this knowledge, skill and craft honed over hundreds of years that is the basis of every belt we make. There is no machinery, no factories no mass volume and wasteful production just hands on crafted excellence in every product. It takes master craftsmen and women years of experience to master bridle leather working using this very old and heritage material, which is proven to outlast most other leather types available.
